TravelBug - Around The World respects your privacy.

TravelBug is designed with privacy-first defaults. Most travel data (such as places visited, flights, routes, notes, and statistics) is processed and stored locally on your device. If enabled by you, selected app data may also sync to your private iCloud account.

Google Calendar Data Access

If you choose to grant permission, TravelBug may access your Google Calendar data in a read-only manner to identify travel-related events such as flights.

This may include limited event information such as:

• Event titles
• Dates and times
• Locations
• Event descriptions (when needed to detect flight details)

This data is used solely to detect and organize your travel activity within the app.

TravelBug does not modify your Google Calendar, and access is strictly read-only.

TravelBug uses Google Calendar data only to provide core app functionality and not for advertising, profiling, or resale.

TravelBug’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Calendar Access (Device)

If you choose to grant permission, TravelBug may read calendar data from your device (Apple Calendar/EventKit) to identify and import travel-related events.

Optional iCloud Sync

If you enable Backup & Sync, TravelBug stores selected app data in your private iCloud Key-Value Storage so your data can sync across your devices.

Optional Third-Party Flight Enrichment

TravelBug may optionally use a third-party flight data provider (Aviationstack) to enrich flight details (for example airline and airport metadata). This feature is optional and app functionality remains available without it.

Data Protection

TravelBug uses industry-standard security measures to protect your data.

• All data transmitted between your device and external services (such as Google APIs) is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS.
• TravelBug does not store Google user data on external servers controlled by the developer.
• Access to user data is limited to only what is required to provide app functionality.
• Sensitive data is not sold, rented, or shared with unauthorized third parties.

Data Retention & Deletion

TravelBug minimizes data collection and storage.

• Google Calendar data is accessed only during active app use and is not stored on external servers.
• Travel data you create is stored locally on your device and, if enabled, in your private iCloud account.
• TravelBug does not store or retain Google user data on external servers. Google user data is accessed only during active use and is not persisted.

User Deletion Options:

• You can delete your travel data at any time within the app.
• You can revoke Google access at any time via your Google Account permissions.
• You can disable iCloud sync at any time in iOS settings.
• Deleting the app will remove all locally stored data from your device.

Data Sharing

TravelBug does not sell your personal data. Data is only shared with third-party services when required to provide features you explicitly enable, including Google Calendar integration, iCloud sync, and optional flight enrichment services.

User Control

You can revoke permissions (such as calendar access) at any time through iOS Settings or your Google account permissions.

If you choose to share travel information using iOS sharing features, that information is shared only with the services you select.

Third-Party Services

TravelBug may use third-party services including Apple Maps, Apple iCloud, Google Sign-In / Google Calendar API, and optional Aviationstack services. These services are governed by their own privacy policies.
